Managing Change and Change Orders on Construction Projects

November 16, 2021 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am PST

Change orders are inevitable on construction projects. They act as a safety relief valve for both owners and contractors over the course of construction. While changes cannot be stopped all together, they can, and must, be managed, for the benefit of both the owner and the contractor, to enable delivery of successful projects on time and within budget. Therefore, owners and contractors must learn how to manage changes to the work during construction.

This webinar discusses:

  • how and why changes arise during the construction phase
  • what owners can, and cannot, change
  • types of changes to work in progress
  • how each type of change order should be handled on site
  • rules of contract interpretation
  • what damages may be owed under the Changes clause
  • how changes can be resolved on the project site

Instructor: James G. Zack, Jr. is Principal of James Zack Consulting, LLC
