Members of the Western Council have access to an extensive network of experts and industry professionals. This invaluable resource provides our members with the knowledge, support, and competitive edge that they need to excel. Western Council believes that information exchange and proper employee training are the best means of problem prevention. That is why the Council offers its members a variety of service options including: training seminars, webinars, Round Tables, Summits, in-house targeted training, capital program updates, industry committees, publications, and much more. 

Western Council professional development, training and networking events provide our members with the resources necessary to improve construction and operations practices and expand business futures. The Council is committed to serving the needs of our members and welcomes member feedback and suggestions for additional services.

Professional Development and Training

Western Council offers regular Round Tables, seminars, forums, webinars, and other types of professional development focused on a host of industry topics including legal and legislative issues, project and construction management and controls, safety, sustainability, employer issues, and many other pertinent topics. Members are encouraged to request/suggest topics they want and need for their teams. Western Council also provides in-house seminars for companies or agencies looking to train new employees or update current employees’ skills.

In 2022, Western Council is adding two online Academies offering both free and fee content.  Individuals can gain access to webinars to take at their convenience.  Organizations can also purchase tickets for their team members to use toward fee webinars.

Western Council is a Construction Users Round Table (CURT) affiliate, so you can benefit from their programs, conferences, and webinars. You will find information about their events at curtevents.com.

Western Council is a Lorman Education affiliate. Our members enjoy a 10% discount on their courses when they use the registration links listed in the Lorman Courses page of this website.

Committees

Members of Western Council are encouraged to serve on Council Committees. This will give you opportunities to address issues, and provide input and planning support for industry-topic-focused programs.

Publications

We publish event programs and offer opportunities to post/share White Papers.

SUMMITS

Western Council offers industry-topic-focused special programs periodically. They are usually full-day programs featuring special presentations, case studies, lessons learned and more by highly knowledgeable presenters, panels, and/or Owner teams. Topics addressed include, but are not limited to, Alternative Project Delivery, BIM/3-D/4D Design & Technology, Project Controls, and Safety. 

Plan now to attend the Annual Project Controls SUMMIT (in January) and Safety SUMMIT (in May). Check the Event Calendar for details and links to specific Flyers and SUMMIT pages.

Project Excellence Awards

Western Council’s Owners’ Project Excellence Awards recognize outstanding performance in design, engineering, and construction. These annual awards are presented at a gala dinner celebration. The submission period is February – June. Judging Requirements and Criteria are detailed on the Owners’ Project Excellence Awards page.
