Schedule Delay Analysis – Choosing A Method & Why Results Differ
August 11, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am PDT
The rules governing recovery of damages under Suspension of Work clauses have been changing over the past two decades. Recovery of costs and time may no longer to be taken for granted. This webinar explores operation of the Suspension of Work clause. We will examine what damages are typically owed when work is suspended as well as some limitations of suspension damages. Five court cases setting forth key requirements necessary to collect damages are discussed. Recommendations of what actions contractors should take when work is suspended are provided and why these actions may help Owners resolve such claims in the field rather than the courtroom.
Participants will learn:
- What a forensic schedule analysis is
- Types of schedule delay analysis and how they differ
- How to choose a schedule delay analysis method
- What factors and issues should be addressed before committing to this potentially lengthy and expensive process
- Once made, if the choice of delay analysis methods is irrevocable
- The risk of trying to change methods mid-stream
- Why different delay analysis methods yield different results
