Testimonials
for Western Council of Construction Consumers
I have been an active member of the Western Council of Construction Consumers for the past 15 years, during which time I held executive positions in the State of California with the Executive Branch and the Administrative Office of the Courts. During this time, these organizations managed construction programs that totaled over 1,000 facilities worth several billion dollars. These facilities were constructed of high quality, the vast majority within the budget and schedule and to the benefit of the citizens of California. The success of these construction programs is due in part to active involvement by the organizations’ management and staff with Western Council. Ideas and best practices were shared with other owners and service providers through a comprehensive training programs offered by WCCC. These included best practices in long range planning, risk management, land acquisition, delivery methods, project management, cost, schedule and quality control, safety programs, sustainable design, claims avoidance and operations and maintenance. I commend the leadership and members of the WCCC for the many programs and contributions they have made that have enabled better buildings to be constructed throughout the western United States….
Lee Willoughby, Judicial Council of California Administrative Office of the Courts
LA Department of Water and Power values its membership in WCCC since it’s an organization dedicated to representing the owners’ perspective on issues, which sets it apart from other groups. We are able to work closely with staff to get topics of interest to ourselves and others scheduled for their programs.
Susan Rowghani, Director – Water Engineering and Technical Services, Los Angeles Dept. of Water and Power (LADWP)
As one of the Nation’s largest landlords outside of the Federal Government, DGS is a member of the Western Council of Construction Consumers for the access it brings to professionals in all aspects of design and construction, as well other owners, public and private. With access to this array of experts currently practicing in our industry, there are not many challenges that haven’t been solved by someone associated with this organization. And with that knowledge base on tap, and the ability to share ideas, why wouldn’t we be part of Western Council of Construction Consumers?
Steve Durham, Chief Construction Services, CA Department of General Services
